In this term we learn about CAI and the program that we use is Adobe Captivate 8. 


- Size that we use is 10248*768
- Text caption →is you need to add content or message.
- Text entry box →for regis page.
- Interjection for bottom
- Media is picture, sound, vdo, animation
- Preview → check you work during you do.
                   - play slide is play only one slide.
                   - project is play all of slides.
- Publish is use for last time when you finished work.
- Timing → Display for : Specific time and rest of slide
There are five bottoms for CAI including : Home, Next, Back,Summit and Exit.
Content in CAI including : Pre-test , Post-test , Lesson and Exercise.

Three phase of  CALL

1. Behavioristic  CALL
 The first phase of CALL,is recognized as the first phase of CALL. It  the audio-lingual method. This phase entailed repetitive language drills and practice activities.

2. Communicative CALL
The second phase of CALL,The focus of CALL in this phase is using the language or function. Computer provide context for student to use the language, grammar.

3. Integrative CALL
  The teaching of four language skills including listening,speaking reading and writing.

The Development of Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL)
          Computer Assisted Language Learning came from computer-assisted instruction or CAI and computer-assisted language instruction or CALI. Have increasingly contributed to the enhancement of English proficiency in all language skills.

Three phase of CALL
- Behavioristic CALL
   The audio- lingual method
- Communicative CALL
  speaking and writing. Using the language of functions rather than analysis of language forms. 
- Integrative CALL
  The teaching of four language skills including listening,speaking reading and writing.

Advantages and Disadvantages of CALL in Language Learning
Advantages

1. Students can have an opportunity to interact in one or more of the four core skills namely, listening,speaking reading and writing because they have to use or produce text meant for an audience in the target language, not the classroom. Moreover, teacher can use CALL to provide a variety of language learning resource and multimedia of dynamic and authentic input in all area.
2. Computer mediated communication help encourage foreign language learners to produce comprehensible output.
3. CALL is able to provide learners with the kinds of information and support that they requires to complete individual tasks.
Disadvantages
1. CALL is limited exposure to the target language input produced by native speakers.
2. High cost
3. Efficient network system in class.

            Digital writing has distinctive characteristics and strengths. Many researchers report positive findings of digital communication application on various aspects related to language learning. Second, learners want to communicate to the group or readers.The learners can view their language message as they produce them So, learners or those who have problems with spelling and low command of vocabulary. Finally, digital is  flexible for teachers to modify contexts to suit learner's language needs and interests.

CAI is is an interactive instructional technique whereby a computer is used to present the instructional material and monitor the learning that takes place. CAI uses a combination of text, graphics, sound and video in enhancing the learning process.


💁The purpose of CAI
It's can be attractive of students and motivated students to want to study CAI. The students have interjection during learning or have a feedback. Moreover, can check that students understand in lessons all the time.


 💇Types of CAI
1. Tutorial Instruction : show content and test in forms of message picture or sound.
2. Drills and Practice : It is a practice program. 
3. Simulation : It is simulation the real activity to student  for study.
4. Instructional Games : It is famous because student interest and want to know lesson from games.

MODAL AUXILIARY IN BRITISH ENGLISH: A CORPUS-BASED STUDY OF MODALITY THROUGH BRITISH NATIONAL CORPUS

This paper present about  Modality, BNCweb and Corpus Linguistics.

📌BNCweb 
      provides means of corpus linguistic analysis. Is a useful device to explore practical usage in English Language. Beside common grammatical knowledge.

📌Objectives
- shed some light on modal verbs of which meaning are difficult to make distinction on theoretical background.
- affirm that modalities can be interchangeable due to different context, such as gender, type of data, perceived level of difficulty.

📌Methods
Three modal verbs (should, have to,must) will be scrutinized by available functions (distribution, collocation and concordance) via BNCweb in order to offer empirical information, such as grammatical usage and discursive practice, of modalities in British context. Details of methodology in each function will be subsequently explained in results and discussion section.

Modal verbs "must","have to","should" have been explained in theoretical usage in many textbooks and sometimes each one has been unforeseen patterns that co-occur with each modal verb and this will assist, at least, English teachers to give realistic examples to students from the top list of collocates.

3. Choose the function.
4. Clear all Tool and Files before selecting opening new files.
5. Save Output to Text File to save output e.g. concordance lines.

😇What are the problems struggling have in writing classes?😇
             
                The problems that have in writing classes are often less motivated to write fails to organize their ideas. The learners have poor handwriting and writes slowly. In addition to, the learners lack of confidence.

😎What does 'digital writing' refer to?😎

'Digital writing' is a standard way of life for learners in Generation M.

             There are three types of digital writing such as, Blog, Instant messaging (IM) and Social network site (SNS)
💖Blog is a discussion, information or personal journey publish on World Wide Web which frequently update. Blogs typically include many features such as, comments, archives, like.




💖Instant messaging (IM) is types of synchronous such as, MSN, Line, Twitter, Skype, chat room. The users can invite a third or fourth person to join for discussion or exchange opinion in article.




💖Social network site (SNS) is a website or an online service platform in which people share interest or interact with other. Such as, Facebook, Twitter.

😻How has digital writing enhanced the teaching of writing?😻
💜First, They provide opportunities for users to use nicknames and enhances inter language communication.
In addition, enhances a peer feedback activity as student feel less threatened.

💜Second, learners actually type out what they want to communicate to the group or readers.

Week 3 The Use of Multimedia in English Teaching

Multimedia is the use of computers to present text, graphics, video, animation and sound in an integrated way

❤Components of Multimedia❤
-Text : It is fundamental element in all multimedia application. Teacher can use different size, color, and style to present information

-Graphics : It refers to images and pictures such as, diagram, chart, photograph. Graphics can stimulate interesting, improve understanding ability of language

-Animation : Animation is speedy display of a sequence of images

-Sound : It is speech, music or any other sound produce by computer. In Multimedia, teacher can use more sound to help students English learning

-Video : It is the visible part of a television. Video can offer more vivid information

Week 2 Weblogs enhancing EFL students's English language learning

Abstract
              This study investigate the potential value of weblog use on  English language learning, students's perceptions of and attitudes towards using Weblogs. Weblog give an opportunity and freedom for self-expression in English, writing skill,critical thinking skill. Weblog can provide learning motivation and opportunities for authorship and readership.
Introduction
            There are Three Types of Weblogs are The Tutor Blog,The Learners Blog and .The Class Blog. Weblog have values in English language education for several reasons. Weblogs provide opportunities for real communication. Blog make reading comprehension more, improve students's writing skill, and abilities, provide an exciting and motivating learning environment in reading and writing for learners.
The study
The participants :There are 25 undergraduate female students in English major in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Nakhon Pathom Rajabhat University. Their ages from 22-24 years.
Method :   The students enroll in the Reading and Writing for Academic Purposes II course. This course develop reading skill in several of written texts including academic resources and develop thinking skill and writing skill. The students met in class twice a week.
Finding
-weblogs as a medium of self-expression online and a tool of enhance English language development. 
-weblogs offered opportunities for writing and reading practice and communicating with other people. 
-weblogs enhance writing, reading skill and vocabulary. 
Discussion and Conclusion
             In conclusion, Weblogs can provide motivate learning environment. Create social interactions between student and instructor. The focus of blog writing was on encourage student self-expression in English.

Weblogs for Use with ESL Classes

✿ What is a Weblog?
               A weblog or blog is online journal that an individual continuously update with words,ideas.
Furthermore, a weblog is interactive. It can respond to any given entry with a comment.

✿ Three Types of Weblogs for Use in ESL Classrooms

1.The Tutor Blog = run by the tutor for the learners

            Blog make the learners know new vocabulary, can be linked to definitions on other site found with a search engine such as google,youtube. In addition, any reader can make a comment that can be read and further commented on blog.Finally, tutor can gives detail of course syllabus , homework assignments to discuss on the blog.

2. The Learners Blog
            Blog can be use as journals for writing practice,develop a sense of ownership and get experience with the practical.

3.The Class Blog = teacher + student
         Teacher and student can make conversation in class and free for student to post messages, image and link. Moreover, the students develop research and writing skill.Can also used as a virtual space for an international classroom language exchange. And another important issue is some weblog software is free.
